The End of the Semester!

I just finished prepping for my last class of the semester that meets tomorrow morning.  How can it be the end of the semester already?!  Of course, students still need to write their finals and I still need to grade them.  But still I can hardly believe the semester is almost over.

My wonderful students, Enrico Heuvel, Martha Mokhutsoane, Luvuyo Mvaphantsi, and Nicolette Segeel have done very good work this semester.  It has been a joy and a privilege to work with them.  I am grateful for their hard work and for their commitment to serve Christ’s church.  I am so proud of them!

Please keep them in your prayers as they finish up their finals and prepare to serve the church in the Province of Southern Africa.

  1. Joe remember the saying, “time flies when you are having fun.” From what you wrote about your students you are having fun and you do not realize how much fun it is to teach when the students are like sponges. Hope it stay this way for you and Amy.

    1. Thanks Peter. Time really has flown. Seems like we were just together at Holy Cross Monastery. Hope our paths cross again soon. Peace, Joe

  2. Joe this brought tears to my eyes thinking of you and these dear students. You are a blessing to them and they are to you. As much as Jim and I miss you and Amy we love what you are doing as you said yes to Gods invitation for you to come to Africa. I will pray for your students as they serve in the name of Jesus sharing the Gospel in South Africa .May the Holy Spirit go before them and uphold them when challenges come their way and may the faithful love of God sustain them As they preach and love in the name of the Lord Jesus . Dearest love to you and Amy. You are always in our prayers. I smiled this week as our twins now 10 played soccer at Monarch ,the Charter school with mostly Hispanic children .It was a very funny game with Landon mostly on the ground. I thought of your love for the game. Jim and Deede Sent from my iPhone

    1. Thanks Deede. Thanks especially for your prayers for my students. They will be blessings to their communities.. We miss you and Jim too. Fun to hear about the twins playing soccer. People love soccer here in South Africa. It’s really fun to be in a place where so many people know how all the teams and players are doing throughout the world. Truly a global passion and shared language in the midst of so much difference. A lovely and fun way to connect with people.
